My Story
Growing up, I never really knew what I wanted to be when I was an adult. For as long as I can remember, the one thing for certain I knew I wanted was to be a mother. My life always seemed scattered and crazy. So, my life happened a little backwards. I got pregnant at 18 and had a beautiful and healthy baby boy, Jaedyn, when I was 19. For 7 years it was just Jaedyn and me. Then my husband, Tim, came into the picture and we quickly became a family. Fast forward a few years, I am a SAHM. I babysit my niece and nephews. I sometimes help my friends out as well when they need help with last minute babysitters. Back in December 2019, my sister and my mom decided to throw a little birthday party for me one evening. This was odd because, hello December baby! I hadn't celebrated my birthday like that in years!! But, my family did something incredible...
I had this gift in front of me with a card I had started to read. I held back the tears because, let me tell you, I wanted to ugly cry all over my Mama's living room. My sister had bought me my first DSLR camera (I forever take pictures of everything) as a thank you for everything I have done helping her with her children and always being there. This gift came at a time in my life when I felt lost. I felt like Taryn had wondered off and wasn't coming back. My son becoming a teenager meant he didn't want to hang out with Mom as much.My husband was working so hard to support our family. I wasn't happy or proud of what I had accomplished at age 32. Since Jaedyn was growing up and becoming more independent, I needed to find purpose again. I needed something for ME that would also contribute to extra money for my family! So I took the camera and started making moves. I researched, I watched tutorials, I even invested in courses that would teach me EVERYTHING!
Then something magical happened. One day everything I had been learning finally CLICKED! I was getting better and better with each session and I was PROUD! I know I will never stop learning and never stop growing, but to go from a cellphone "momtographer" to learning and using MY professional equipment in such a short time felt amazing! <3
